Installation of Granite Retaining Wall Underway

Tons of Mount Airy white granite are being placed to form retaining walls at White Sulphur Springs, a new luxury home community just outside the city limits of Mount Airy, NC. Engineered to preserve the natural beauty of the property and minimize the environmental impact of road grading, a series of beautiful and massive retaining walls are under construction.

This isn’t the first time Mount Airy’s white granite has accented this hillside property. Once the site of the legendary 1910 White Sulphur Springs Hotel, timeworn edges of the octagon-shaped mineral springs well and an imposing granite step from the original entrance to the hotel remain as prominent landmarks on the front lawn of the new community.
